Mama’s Pizza
When you’re making the best pizza in Omaha, cooking up a rebrand isn’t atop the menu
Jeff Harwood found himself between a pizza and a hard place.
As the owner/operator of his 35+ year old family business, he knew he needed marketing help. He knew there were things he could do to ease his workflow, acquire more customers thanks to pre-existing brand equity, and ultimately do a better job conveying his brand online.
We when initially met with Jeff, he was considering using a “free” website from his point of sale software. In fact, he told us “thanks but no thanks” and started with the other company. After two weeks he called back and we started working together.
Jeff’s main constraint was time; as it is for many business owners who are not marketing experts and don’t want to be.
We assured him we could bring his vision for the website to life, and it would not rob him of time. If you have ever worked in the restaurant industry, you can relate to the feeling of never being off the clock. Now multiply it by one million as the owner.
As we mocked up and developed the site, Jeff asked if we could help him develop his menus, which we did and you can view here. From there the conversation evolved into imagery/commercial photography.
Even though Mama’s “bread and butter” will always be pizza, there were a lot of other menu items that used bread and butter that weren’t being featured. For example, the handmade tenderloin sandwich.
Made in-house daily from scratch it is a fan favorite, so we featured this item (and several others) in a full photography session with a food stylist. We captured some great images that you can now find sprinkled all over the site.
Here’s what we did:
Here’s what happened:
We launched the website in mid-2019. Because of Jeff’s willingness to to let us handle the details, and our knowledge of SEO, the site progressively received more and more visitors, each month accumulating a new high. In 2020 when other restaurants were closing, Mama’s had its best revenue year to that point.
We love pizza as much as we love marketing. Reach out and let’s hear about your brand!
