CM’s was started over 30+ years ago by Chuck Monico. The ultimate story of hard work, determination, and small business success that makes America great, Chuck built his business from a one-man operation that focused on lawn maintenance and mowing, to a large scale operation.

In those 30 years, the business evolved not only in size and number of employees, but also in terms of services. What started as “just” mowing and lawn care, evolved over time and offered pest control, landscaping, irrigation, tree and plant care, snow removal, and exterior hardscape design for both residential and commercial clients.

As the brand grew and evolved, the logo and tagline had not. We were tasked with creating an entirely new business name, logo, and tagline – a true and complete rebrand- that encompassed all existing services.

If you look at the “sun” styled logo you see each of the elements – blue representing water for lawn care and snow removal green representing grass and growth the tan square representing landscaping/hardscapes and the sun iconography that tied all the service offerings together.

Here’s what we did:

  • Completed a full rebrand from CM’s Custom Lawns to CM’s Outdoor Solutions

  • Created brand standards guide with multiple iterations and usage of new logo

  • Complete website rebuild on WordPress Content Management System (CMS)

  • Migrated an entire password protected login bill pay system for clients (including existing database) to a new secure interface

  • Wrote completely new website copy

  • Optimized and edited the Google Business Profile to capture top rankings in local SEO

  • Created an email blast content calendar based on seasonality, designed the emails, managed the sends and all lists, grew list size by 4x

  • Regional SEO

  • Social Media Management of the Facebook account, created all content, graphics, and content calendar

  • Monthly blog post creation optimized for SEO

Here’s what happened:

We launched in December of 2018 and in 2019 the business accumulated the highest annual revenue total in its history. The business was ultimately purchased by Ryan Lawn Care, a large regional brand out of Kansas City.
